Shoes are useful items for many low defense units. Shoes increase a character's speed, movement, and jump ability. A common way to utilize shoes is to always have a pair in one's item bag. When a jump is too high or a unit needs to move a little farther, you can have a character switch an accessory for a pair of shoes. After moving, you can re-equip the accessory. Remember, switching items does not waste a turn. However, you can not switch items after attacking or doing a similar action.

Some classes benefit from always wearing shoes, such as Ninjas, Kunoichis, and Mystic Beasts. The increase of Speed helps the unit evade more efficiently and make up for a lack of defense. Shoes are available from the shop once you pass the bill at the Dark Assembly.

* The Maxi Sandals are a special item that can only be stolen from the "Invincible Hero" on your first visit to Stage 6-1, but another copy can be obtained on each subsequent cycle.

** The Hyper Drive is only present in the Japanese version of the game, unless you cheat.
