Within the world of Disgaea, mana is used almost as a form of currency at the Dark Assembly. It is used to pay for the creation of new characters, to pass new bills, and to transmigrate.

Mana is gained through killing enemy characters. The mana acquired is equal to the enemy's level, although it can be enhanced through the use of Managers.
