Knights, often called Heavy Knights, are well known for taking too long to die. They are the only humanoid class with a HP aptitude higher than 130%. They also get a huge boost to DEF when they have low health. Additionally, Knights have the longest throw range in the game, 6 panels, which you'll need if you're to complete Cave of Ordeals 5. Knights are masters of Swords, Spears, and Axes, but especially Spears because they boost DEF.

While a Knight's high resistance is good for shrugging off spells, it can also turn a Knight into a decent backup healer. This is certainly a smart move since a Knight's movement is very short and healing magic allows him to do something if the Knight does not reach his target.
