Disgaea: Dark Hero Days was released on the PlayStation Portable in Japan on March 26, 2009, and in the United States on September 8, 2009. It contains many new features compared to the original, Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories, including 10 new unique playable characters (most of which were simply optional bosses in Cursed Memories), more monster and human classes, a new Axel Mode storyline, and some new gameplay mechanics introduced in Disgaea 3 (Magic Change, Pass & Toss). In Japan, 10 playable DLC characters were also released, but only 7 of them are currently available in North America. Two of them are free.
