Bows are one of the three long-range weapons in Disgaea. Bows are typically seen as the least popular of weapons among players, typically because few classes are made to use bows and they lack the power of other weapons. Bows use both ATK and HIT to calculate damage, and have an attack range of four panels.

While bows may lack the power of other weapons, they make it up with their sheer versatility. Bows are the only weapons that have special attacks that induce ailments. In addition, when a character with a bow kills an enemy, there is a chance the enemy will drop a treasure chest. Chests provide either useful loot, or a convenient distraction for enemies. It should be no surprise that Archers are the best class to give bows to.
